1st year who plays shortstop. He is good buddies with Yufune and Wakana. He is also really passionate. Throws: Right-handed Height: 174 cm Weight: 65 kg Blood Type: O Has an epic scene at the end of the series where he let's Wakana pinch-hit for him in a clutch situation. He does this because despite Wakana having a broken finger, Hiyama knows that he sucks and so sacrifices his chance for the good of the team. Wakana then quotes Kawato-sensei, "Flutter into your dreams, glitter into tomorrow".
